FamilyTable Make & Taste Cooking Workshops

Families prepare their Rainbow Plate at Molina Health in Newburgh.

Land to Learn’s FamilyTable Make & Taste Workshops bring children, parents, and caregivers together to explore the joy of cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients. In each workshop, families prepare simple, nutritious recipes that highlight fruits and vegetables. Participants practice cooking skills, like chopping, measuring, and mixing, while learning about nutrition, cultural food traditions, and ways to make healthy meals at home. The workshops foster connection, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen, giving families an opportunity to share stories, try new flavors, and sit down together at a “family table” they helped create.

Partner With Us. Invest in Your Community.

Land to Learn's FamilyTable Make & Taste Workshops are a hands-on, high-impact way for businesses and organizations to invest in the families they serve. By sponsoring or hosting a workshop, you're not just putting your name on a community event — you're attaching it to an experience that brings kids and grown-ups together to cook, connect, and learn side by side.

We aim to keep workshops free for participants, so we ask host businesses or organizations to cover the costs, ranging on a sliding scale from $200 - $500 per workshop for maximum of 15 people per event.

Our workshops are designed to be warm, inclusive, and accessible. Families work together to prepare simple, nutritious recipes using fresh, seasonal produce. Each workshop includes hands-on cooking activities, a shared meal, and a take-home kitchen gift. It's an experience people remember, and it's the kind of community touchpoint that reflects well on the businesses that make it possible.

Why Sponsor a FamilyTable Workshop?

Partnering with Land to Learn is a way to tell your audience — and your community — that you're invested in more than just the bottom line. Sponsor visibility at events, inclusion in our newsletters and outreach materials, and alignment with a program that supports childhood nutrition, family wellness, and community connection all come with the partnership. For businesses in wealthier areas of the Hudson Valley, sponsoring also carries an added dimension of impact: your support helps fund workshops and programming in less-resourced communities across the region, where kids and schools have fewer access to these kinds of experiences.

We partner with local farms, food organizations, and community groups to keep our programming grounded and authentic. If your business shares those values, we'd love to explore how we can work together.

“I was honestly fighting back tears because he ONLY eats about 15-20 foods (most of which are snacks or protein), and the way he attempted to/tried things last night was amazing to me. Something I’ve waited years for! Even when he got home he took 3 more bites of the brown rice AND tried some of the spinach. You have NO idea how much that meant to me! Not only that but his language and engagement floored me as well. Communication has always been hardest for him. The way he introduced himself was astonishing!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! we can’t wait to come back.”
